According to Lord Tytler the average age of the world’s democracies is around 200 years.

After two hundred years, nations collapse due to various economic policies and are followed by a dictatorship.

Courage to liberty.
Liberty to abundance.
Abundance to complacency.
Complacency to apathy.
Apathy to dependence.
Dependence back to bondage.
