I pay for and receive weekly articles to self-publish from one of the analytic services I subscribe to. This week, I just started laughing when I opened it… (I am now using their article suggestions about half the time. “New and improved” isn’t always “improved”, but that is a story for another day.)

I saw this recently from visualcapitlast.com and I laughed then, too…

From trueflation.com is a number which is more reflective of what our household and those we know, are experiencing… as of 5/13/2024

25.41% YTD

I tried doing multiple google searches for which categories have been removed from the CPI over the past 5, 10, 20, 30 years and not surprisingly… after trying multiple wording combinations… google is hiding that information…

The first time I realized the games being played with the CPI inflation number was back when Clinton was President and they added a factor REDUCING inflation by the speed of a computer chip. A new faster chip and it decreased inflation… Who knew?!?!

We are unfortunately living in very interesting times, my friends…

Be well and be sure to count your Blessings and hug your loved ones.

Thank you visualcapitialist.com for the chuckle. Thank you trueflation.com.
