This “emerging market” label has always been a head scratcher for me when I look at some data that comes across,  and these two charts are not changing it for me. “per capita income” blah, blah, blah… got it but…

Start with top 50 economies by GDP:

Now look at this. 2 of the top 3 stock markets are emerging markets and have the highest valuations.

Are China, India and Taiwan “emerging markets” in your mind?

Not really apples to apples comparison of using valuation and GDP, but I found it interesting to contemplate… maybe not, but just a rabbit hole on a Thursday…
